I recently found these walking the alleyways of our neighborhood, which is a bit like traveling to a different city!

| August 23, 2010 @ 7:51am | Boing! When I look at the first, I want to get on a pogo stick and have fun! I prefer the 1st due to its simplicity.
The busy background of the 2nd distracts my eye from the springs, which are what I want to see. But since you focused upon the background, I guess that's what you want us to pay attention to.

Go ahead and play with the images. I would ask that when you post them on other sites (such as Flikr, Photobucket, etc.) that you credit my photography. I would do the same for you! Other than that, I'm E Z T D B W. |

Re photo #2, I remember trying several points of focus and apertures for depth of field from shallow to deep. This version seemed closest to what first caught my eye: the springs drew me in, but it was the background I found most delightful.
However, my husband has the same reservations as Flo.

| August 25, 2010 @ 6:40pm | Oh well; it was one approach.
Thanks again for your honest feedback. I did have to fight a bit with this capture of #2; that is a "clue" I can use as a take-away.
On to the next thing!

cheers ®

Thank you, Roland. I'm glad you enjoyed that image!
(I didn't want to bump Sail Away up in the queue again, but thank you very much for your encouraging comments there as well.)

| August 30, 2010 @ 12:48am | What a great find. I like them both but will have to go with the majority on this one, #1 is absolutely delightful. #2 I like the background, but find the springs in their current form some what distracting. I think if the springs were some what darker the overall would work better.
