One of my recent images shot last month in Long Beach, CA. Shot with a Nikon D300, Sigma 80-400 (600mm), ISO 200, f8.0, 1/1000 sec. C&C always welcome.

Happy New Year to all,

Gareth

Boy, you nailed that one. What a frame! And the surfer comes out of a diagonal. Great job.

Hi Gareth,
I'm getting the red X. I wonder if I'm the only one? I'd love to see your image.

WOW. You really got lucky with this one. Nice job.

Go ahead and play with the images. I would ask that when you post them on other sites (such as Flikr, Photobucket, etc.) that you credit my photography. I would do the same for you! Other than that, I'm E Z T D B W.

Great use of SS to freeze the action and your composition is awesome; really like your use of lighting, too; super work!

Great action shot, Gareth and I also love the composition here. It looks like this guy is awfully close to the beach in the shot. The reason being that the foam in the foreground look like what one would see at the shore line. Great capture.

Wes, the image was shot in Marine Stadium in Long Beach, CA. It was the site of the 32' Olympic rowing events and is still actively used for local rowing events. The foam you see is from the wake of the boat pulling the skier. I shot it hand-held with a 80-400mm Sigma lens from about 100 feet away.
