About The Mindful Photography School Workshops

Thank you for considering  a workshop with The Mindful Eye Photography School.

The Mindful Eye Photography School offers workshops that are of extremely high value. Our average student to teacher ratio is one of the lowest in the business. We fully recognize the commitment of time, energy and money it takes for you to attend a workshop. We work very hard to be the best at intimately knowing our locations, providing a wealth of high quality information via excellent presentations and one on one help in the field, presenting extremely supportive and highly detailed image reviews, and doing all of this in an energy rich, supportive environment where inspiration and having fun never take a back seat to anything.

During the workshops, our complete focus is on you, the participant.
Our instructors do not shoot their own work when they are with students on our workshops.

If you see an instructor photographing, they are either shooting images of the participants engaging in the workshop for public relation purposes, shooting something that is to be used for educational purposes during the workshop, or demonstrating something for a participant(s).

The Mindful Eye Photography School fully realizes that in addition to the education business we are in the inspiration business, the fun vacation business, and ultimately, we are a service business. We are here to serve you. Your complete satisfaction with your workshop experience is our pledge and guarantee. After all, the majority of our workshop participants are repeat customers and we know as well as anyone that we only get one chance to make an awesome first impression.
What the Tuition Covers

The tuition covers the cost of The Mindful Eye Photography School workshop. Transportation to and from the workshop, lodging, rental car (if needed) and meals are the responsibility of the participant. In addition, unless otherwise specified in the description of a workshop, such incidentals as entry to national parks are also the responsibility of the participant.
Each workshop description contains travel and lodging information. We have blocks of rooms set aside for each workshop at our host venue. The contact information for the lodging for the individual workshop is available on that workshop’s page.
How to Register for a Workshop

On the page for each workshop, you will find a link to our contact form where you can request further information about a workshop and request registration.

All of our workshops require a $300 deposit to hold a space for you on the workshop. Deposits are due within 10 days of the date you receive the registration invoice when you register for the workshop. Only the receipt of your deposit holds a space for you on The Mindful Eye Photography School’s workshop.
If you register 90 days or less from the start of the workshop, all tuition is due at the time you register.
Remaining Tuition
Between 90 and 120 days before the workshop, you will receive more detailed information about a specific workshop – suggested clothing, items to bring, etc. – as well as an invoice for the remaining tuition.
All remaining tuition is due 90 days before the start of a workshop.
Cancellation Policies and Procedures
Please read our Policies and Procedures, covering our cancellation policies, before registering for a workshop.
Trip and Equipment Insurance
We strongly suggest that you purchase trip insurance for your trip, especially once you've made non-refundable airline reservations, to protect against unforeseen situations.  Trip insurance protects you against lose of your tuition if you have to cancel your participation in a workshop due to an emergency at work, illness or illness of a family member.
In addition, we highly recommend that you have insurance for all of your camera and computer equipment.
Photographer Skill Level
Unless otherwise specified, our workshops are open to all photography skill levels. Some may be directed more toward the beginning photographer and some may be directed more toward the advanced photographer. If this is the case, it will be stated in the specific workshop description.
Equipment Needed for a Workshop
All of our workshops are based on digital photography. You need a digital camera capable of manual adjustments to ISO, aperture, shutter speed and white balance to get the most out of our workshops.
If you are a film shooter, you are welcome on our workshops. However, we have no way of processing film or critiquing images shot on film during the workshop.
Always have your camera manual with you.
You also need a laptop computer and image processing software, such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Elements or any of the other image processing software available, in order to process your images and prepare them for the image critique sessions.
The detailed description of each workshop will note any other equipment needed for that specific workshop.
Health and Fitness Considerations
All of our workshops are open to participants of all physical levels. We describe the level of activity in each individual workshop description.
Changes to Workshop
The Mindful Eye Photography School reserves the right to make changes to any itineraries whenever, in our judgment, it serves to better or enhance the workshop experience.  These changes may be due to a change in circumstances beyond our control, such as inclement weather, impassable roads, flower or fall color conditions, fire, flood, etc. Any change made to a workshop’s itinerary will be done only to ensure our participants receive the best workshop experience possible.
If you are registered for a workshop and we have to change the date for any reason, you will be given the opportunity to cancel your participation with no penalty.
