| Night Train--first post | January 4, 2009 @ 4:14pm | I've been lurking for a few years and I thought I'd post for C & C. This was a collaborative effort with another person firing several flash bulbs. We also tried to limit the station and train lights as to not blow the highlights.

| January 4, 2009 @ 4:36pm | Welcome, Chuck - now we have two of you, lol.
I like this image very much and the way you painted it with light. I'll bet those two guys had a ball watching you and your assistant running around with the lights, lol.
Do you have any more "light paintings"?

| January 4, 2009 @ 4:46pm | Welcome, Chuck. I like the light painting. I would like the image even without it because I like the subject and the way you presented it. Nice train.

| January 6, 2009 @ 8:38am | The lighting is nicely done on this fantastic scene. It's well balanced and you forget that flashes were used. The bright points (one on the two guys and one beside the engine) just look like a flashlight was used, i.e. you captured a "natural" scene as it happened - normal activities at a train station in the dark.

| January 6, 2009 @ 12:41pm | Big welcome, Chuck. This looks like something out of an old movie. What a nice composition you came up with. I like the ideas of extra flashes at various spots in the scene. I enjoy the over all detail in the image, too. For many years I lived in Marion, IL. Nice to see another midwesterner here.

| January 10, 2009 @ 10:17pm | Nice shot and nice composition, Chuck. I especially like the placement of the two guys. How did you get them to stand in the same place for so long? -Dan

| Thanks | January 11, 2009 @ 12:28pm | Thanks for the kind words and welcome. It was easier for the two folks to stand still because the lantern they held was only one for a short while during one of the flash pops. I have another night scene of a depot that I'll post later. Chuck |
