Whatever it is, your image of it is beautiful! The top part reminds me of those pleated bed skirts. The bottom part definitely look metalic.

Thanks for all the guesses. It's a close up of a sealed beam headlamp on an old truck. I thought it was interesting how the green of the grass and the blue of the sky inverted in the shape of the glass. I also tone mapped the image, to get the iridescent look.

Here's another with more visible hints.

We'd probably have never guessed this, so thanks for telling us! I'd also not remembered that GE used to make lots of those old sealed beam headlights.
