I looked for OZ behind the curtains only to find smoke and mirrors called life.

I LOVE this! It looks like the dragonfly is hurtling down at a speed that's just about to break the sound barrier (a speed that causes planes to burst through a ring of water vapor).

Great post processing! Print this large.

So how did you get close enough to get a super shot of a dragonfly or let alone get this one to sit still?

Great shot and the post processing adds to the overall effect of motion and making the center-of-interest pop.

Go ahead and play with the images. I would ask that when you post them on other sites (such as Flikr, Photobucket, etc.) that you credit my photography. I would do the same for you! Other than that, I'm E Z T D B W.

I am always amazed at photos that can capture such a nice head shot of a dragon fly, Theo. The colors are wondderfully vibrant and having the tail blurred adds a great depth to the image. I also like the blurred foreground. Is that a lily pad?

nope wes just a leaf. I learned something in nature in macro blog about dragonfly is they tend to return to the same place most of the time. It would be a comical picture to see the kind of positions i get myself into to take these lol, or even funnier is getting out of the said positions lol.

Maybe that's why the dragonfly looks so entranced with you.Smile
