Beautiful. I hope the plant was tall enough for you to get beneath the flower easily! LOL. I have one in my back yard, so thanks for the reminder - it might be in bloom, too - it's white.

Thanks, Flo. They do tend to bow their beautiful heads a lot. This one wasn't so bad but still required that I get on my hands and knees.

Thank you Trish. Actually, I feel better about getting down on my knees now than I did 6 months agoSmile

Thank for your comments, Mel. All colors are beginning to pop up now so I am sure I will be inspired to shoot more the next time I get into the garden park.

Wes, how did you make the stamens and pistils "pop" without causing halos around them?

Hi, Flo. I used a very small amount of Topaz detail 2. It did work quite well here but it doesn't always.

Beautiful, Wes. Our piles of snow finally melted enough for me to see the ground, so went out to inspect mine yesterday. So far, all I've got is a couple of little green nubs at ground level...and a few low green sprouts in the neighborhood of the crocus and lilies. I love what you're doing with the Topaz filter.

What a great shot Wes! Nice flower too - I would crop a bit on the bottom to get rid of distracting leaf there. Print it and put it in your bathroom!

Flower pictures just seem to go well with most bathroom decor - more difficult to incorporate them into other living spaces - LOL! Although, this shot is dynamic enough, you could hang it about anywhere....especially if you printed it very large e.g. 16x23" or so....it would have an impact.

Very funny, Flo. In fact, is does look like a shower head.

Don't let Flo get to you Peter. I think I will try to print it out big and see where it ends up in my house. It may have to go into the bathroom since my wall space is beginning to fill up.

I love all of Flo's comments. I actually look forward to them! She not only has a unique photographic perspective, but a prosaic one as well.

I'll bet a large print of this would just be spectacular. I have an Epson 4880 that could do it justice!

Those hellebores are tough to capture, and I love the detail in this image. Parts of it almost look like quilting.

Not having a right-angle viewer, I've tried using a mirror. But mirrors are nasty to spot-clean in Photoshop.Tongue

I was lucky with this one, April. It was facing more in forward position than in a downward one. I do like these when they appear in the early spring.

Thanks for the commnets.

OK, Peter - there are two definitions of "prosaic" - one dictionary puts one of these first and the other 2nd; another puts the 2nd definition 1st - lol.

So - 1. lacking in imagination.
2. Matter-of-fact.

And there are some days when I feel like a combo of both definitions - matter-of-fact because my imagination went to sleep! Smile

Of course you know I'm teasing! Grin

I know I am late. I was absent for a couple of weeks.

I like those texturized petals and the stemens' drawing precision or clarity. Colors are captivating by their vibrance on a black background. Like their HDR look.

Good PP, Wes. Smile
