| March 19, 2010 @ 7:05am | OR, had you not told us, this looks very much like a layered sandstone formation. Great catch - just the right light to bring out the edges that the water left behind.

| March 23, 2010 @ 7:39pm | Well seen! A wonderful impression of a layered mountain range. It reminds me of oriental ink paintings, but with a texture they lack.
I think it would be fun to play with some more. Obviously, cloning out the white fleck and healing the dark spots. But then, I wonder what would happen if you introduced some graduated darkening into the receding regions?
Maybe then it would look too contrived, but might be worth a try.

| I did play around a little but as you say it became contrived or painted. I really didn't know how to improve on the effect. But all are welcome to try.
