| Chinese Girl...Sweet | January 16, 2011 @ 8:31pm | It's quite freeezing yesterday. However, sunshine was warm enough to relieve my heart. The girl in the pictures is one of my intimate friends. I managed to shoot my maiden work of portrait thanks to her help .

This does give me a nice dreamy feeling.

| January 17, 2011 @ 12:57pm | The first is a beautiful natural portrait; I really like the light, including the highlights in her hair and shoulders, whether "burned out" or not. The sweater and have done a wonderful job in filling in her face and head. She looks so natural, as radiant as the sun shining on her. Lovely.
The second is very different. Again you have chosen to allow the sun to do its work and even allowed it to diffuse the image and scatter the light. Yet for me everything works. Is she protecting herself from a large and overwhelming environment? Nice work.

Thanks a lot for your comment. I'm considering if I should name the pictures "a girl under sunlight"~~

Do I correctly understand this is your first time ("maiden" voyage) shooting portraits? If so...wow.
JMR has captured my reactions to the first photograph in his comments.
In the second photograph, what a great environment you found to echo what your friend is wearing. Though the gesture seems a little forced, I absolutely love her placement and shadow in the slice of light.
Beautiful work in this and the "Wilting Flowers".

| January 18, 2011 @ 10:31am | Rose, these are two beautifully executed images. For the first, your friend has such an interesting expression and I like that she's leaning over. Have you considered cropping in from the left just to her hair?
The 2nd image shows you have an excellent eye for shooting "out of the box" - an unusual angle plus allowing the sun to dilute the colors of the scene. Sharp focus, but diffused light.
